Tinctures – Typically tinctures are small glass or plastic “dropper” bottles that have cannabidiol oil mixed with a preserving solution such as alcohol. Tinctures were very a very common way to ingest botanical oils prior to the industrial revolution and are experiencing a resurgence in popularity as more people are looking for natural remedies. Tinctures with droppers allow you to put a few drops in your tea, under your tongue, or to bake the oil directly into your food.
CBD Oil with THC – This type of oil, most often referred to as ‘cannabis oil,’ is illegal in some states due to its THC content. As you might guess, the effects of this type of oil are different than that of a pure CBD oil. THC of course is an active component in marijuana that can help with various medical conditions. When CBD and THC are combined, it has been suggested that the psychoactive properties of the THC are diminished. Tremendous medical benefits have been anecdotally reported from cannabis oils that contain a 1:1 THC-to-CBD ratio.

Since the loosening of legal policy around cannabis and the growing evidence in support of its health benefits, CBD oil has become an integral part of a lot of peoples supplement stack, used as a recovery aid by helping to improve sleep and reduce exercise-induced inflammation. Personally, I’ve been taking it for a few weeks have felt real, tangible improvements in my sleep quality.
